Welcome to Fridaythorpe Parish Council – supporting our rural community through local action, events, and services. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the village, we’re here to help keep Fridaythorpe safe, connected and thriving.

Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, Fridaythorpe holds a unique place both geographically and historically.  Located midway along the A166 between York and Driffield, our village proudly stands at the very centre of the Wolds Way — a renowned walking route that showcases the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape.

With a population of around 300, Fridaythorpe is not only rich in charm, but also holds the distinction of being the highest village in the Yorkshire Wolds, standing at approximately 150–170 metres above sea level.

Our history runs deep — Fridaythorpe is recorded in the Domesday Book, marking it as a place of settlement for nearly a thousand years.
